Spanish courses in Spain just for you!
The people of La Rioja have an open and enormously hospitable character which will be of great help to you in improving your Spanish.
Since the Middle Ages, La Rioja has been an important point on the pilgrims' journey to Santiago de Compostela, which has given it a society enriched by plurality.
It is a region with a very important cultural and natural heritage that places it at the forefront of Spain. A region famous worldwide for its wines and wineries, it maintains a great respect for its history and nature. Monasteries, castles and stone churches contrast with the colours of the Rioja vineyards.
Logroño
Logroño, capital of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja, is a medium-sized city located in the northwest of Spain. Its social life revolves around a monumental quarter in the city centre with important civil and religious monuments. The streets Portales and Laurel are also located here, whose international fame is accredited by its more than 65 tapas bars and restaurants, Logroño having been named the gastronomic capital of Spain.
The city of Logroño is a perfect location for the study of Spanish because of the convenience of its medium size, its green spaces and sports facilities (which earned it the title of European City of Sport), its history, its lively social life and its few English speakers.
San Millán de la Cogolla
At the foot of the Sierra de la Demanda rise the monasteries of San Millán de la Cogolla, Suso and Yuso. With origins dating back to the 6th century, their artistic, historical and linguistic values led them to be declared World Heritage Sites in 1997. They were the first historical examples of the Spanish language, the first written form of the Romance language we know today as Spanish.
