Spanish language course and wine tourism activities

Activities designed to discover the secrets of Rioja wine culture:

Conference of the Rioja Designation of Origin: Rioja is a privileged region for growing grapes and producing high quality wines with a unique personality and an exceptional aptitude for ageing.

  • Wine tasting: a wine expert will be your guide in this general introduction to wine culture. With sensory analysis (tasting techniques) you will taste different wines and discover the ageing process applied to "Rioja".
  • Gastronomic guided tour of Laurel Street in Logroño: this place concentrates different tapas bars in the old town. Almost fifty of them are located around 4 streets.
  • Visit two emblematic wineries in La Rioja:
  • Bodegas Franco-Españolas: one of the great wineries of La Rioja. With its 125 years of history, it is a reference point when it comes to the world of wine.
  • Bodegas Marqués de Riscal: the spectacular shape of the Frank O. Gehry building, combined with the beauty of the landscape and the facilities surrounding this winery,
    an exceptional setting for a unique and incomparable experience.
  • Travel expenses included for trips and visits outside Logroño.

At La Rioja Spanish School our classes are designed to achieve familiarisation and rapid learning of the most relevant linguistic aspects of Spanish.

Our Weekly Spanish and wine tourism activities combines the systematic teaching of all language skills, paying special attention to the practice of communicative skills.

Why take the Spanish and wine tourism activities Weekly Course in La Rioja?

Wine is culture, a way of life that you can enjoy when you visit La Rioja. This course has been designed for both wine experts and wine enthusiasts in general who want to improve their Spanish in La Rioja, a place known worldwide for its famous wines and wineries.

In the mornings, you will have Spanish classes in small groups. The high qualification of our teachers and their extensive teaching experience make our courses a reference in the teaching of Spanish in La Rioja. In the afternoons, you can take part in different activities aimed at discovering the different production areas and tasting Rioja wines.

Objectives of the Weekly Spanish and wine tourism activities Course

According to the Instituto Cervantes, the general objectives of the Reference Levels for Spanish are established in three broad dimensions from the perspective of the learner (or the language learner in general):

  • The learner as a social agent, who must know the elements that make up the linguistic system and be able to cope in the usual situations of communication that occur in social interaction.
  • The student as an intercultural speaker, who must be able to identify the relevant aspects of the new culture accessed through Spanish and establish bridges between the culture of origin and that of Spanish-speaking countries.
  • The student as an autonomous learner, who must become responsible for his or her own learning process, with sufficient autonomy to continue advancing in his or her knowledge of Spanish beyond the curriculum itself, in a process that can last a lifetime.

Target audience of the Weekly Spanish and wine tourism activities

The Weekly Spanish and wine tourism activities is aimed at all those people who wish to start learning Spanish (beginner level), as well as those who have already started to study this language and simply want to improve their knowledge of Spanish. The same (all other levels).

  • Visit two emblematic wineries in La Rioja:
  • Bodegas Franco-Spanish: one of the great wineries of La Rioja. With 125 years of history, it is still a reference point when it comes to the world of wine.
